Ebru is one of a handful of photographers I so greatly admire because she is photographing not only with film, but she specializes in photographing musicians live and for their album covers. Exactly what I plotted my career to be. I have photographed countless musicians, but also went down the tract of photographing all types of artists, blue chip, culinary, musicians, and bartenders all part of the cultural pot within New York and beyond, so I know how strong a woman must be while working with the music industry. I really began to follow Ebu's work in earnest as she began to document the last days of Death by Audio, to then publish her amazing monograph book, Death by Audio. And all the while, Ebru is a photographer who literally lived down the street from me in Brooklyn. Ebru and her partner opened an awesome photography studio in Greenpoint, @BrooklynGrain and I am excited to host an upcoming solo exhibition at Big Day Gallery @bigdayfilmcollective of Ebru's new work, For The Record, documenting women who are the backbone of the New York music industry. We got to talk about her trajectory in photography, all of her work leading up to now, and what we are planning for her exhibition coming up in November 2020 @bigdayfilmcollective For more information about Ebru's work please follow Ebru here @ebruyildiz , and please follow Big Day gallery at @bigdayfilmcollective as we open next week for our September exhibition, Jon Henry: Stranger Fruit @whoisdamaster, learn about out darkroom and film services, and our upcoming Inaugural Short Film film festival with @freefringephilly , and more exhibitions to come! #ebruyildiz #brooklyngrain #filmisnotdead #staybrokeshootfilm #fortherecord #brooklynphoto #thomyorke
